AN ODE TO INDIAN SANDSTONE : A CLASSIC BUT VERSATILE CHOICE
There’s a reason Indian Sandstone has been such a popular paving choice over the last couple of decades in the UK. It’s beautifully versatile, wonderfully textured and complements any style of build. Our Indian Sandstone can look perfect in a traditional village cottage as well as creating a contemporary looking outdoor space within a modern scheme. Some clients may over-look naturally riven sandstone believing it to be ‘old hat’, and while there is some truth in that it’s really only based on the fact that it’s been around a long time. The reason it has been used as a paving material in landscaping for a long time is that it creates attractive and flexible patios and always will do. It’s a paving option that has stood the test of time and even in this age of porcelain paving, Millboard and a multitude of other natural stone alternatives – Indian Sandstone can still look utterly wonderful.
OUR BRONTE SANDSTONE LOOKING FANTASTIC IN A CONTEMPORARY GARDEN DESIGN SCHEME IN SWANWICK, HAMPSHIRE.
This project proves that riven sandstone can work very well with a modern residential property. Flowing out from an orangery with anthracite bi-fold doors and smooth rendered walls Bronte paving surrounds the house in the conventional random natural stone pattern creating a main patio area for alfresco dining and relaxing. Further away from the house in a little sun trap area of the garden is a beautiful seating area built with a few square metres of our lovely Bronte and some rendered walls topped with black slate – a beautiful space to enjoy a drink in the sunshine!
OUR KANDLA GREY SANDSTONE USED TO CREATE A CONTEMPORARY PATIO SPACE AND OUTDOOR KITCHEN IN CHANDLERS FORD, HAMPSHIRE.
Outdoor kitchens have become very popular over the last few years and this one in Chandlers Ford is a lovely example of a functional and attractive outdoor living space. In the lower patio area the sandstone has been laid in modern coursed rows whereas the outdoor kitchen has been laid with the same stone in the traditional random four-sized pattern. Both areas merge tastefully together for a space you can use all year round.
OUR MINT SANDSTONE USED TO CREATE A TRANQUIL OASIS BY THE COAST – HAYLING ISLAND, HAMPSHIRE.
This beautiful coastal retreat was created by Montague Landscapes of Fareham, Hampshire. Using our Mint Sandstone in multiple sizes but laid in coursed rows the paved areas look very modern yet exude character with the different shades found in Mint giving the garden real charm. Contemporary rendered walls and a glass balustrade balcony provide a space to overlook the sea while a water feature close to the house adds to the feeling of tranquillity in this design.
